MERIT Faculty Fellowship

 

The MERIT Faculty Fellowship provides mentorship and supervision in health professions education research. The goal of the program is to increase the number of education scholars within the Faculty of Health Sciences  

 

A MERIT scientist(s) will partner with the fellow to serve as a project supervisor and fellowship mentor. The fellow will complete a scholarly education project, either a research project or evaluation of an innovation. The fellow will design a personalized curriculum to help them acquire the necessary skills to complete their project and acquire the foundational abilities of an education scholar. 

 

Fellows will receive $25,000 (inclusive of salary and fringe benefits) in total via regular payments.

In this month's MERIT Video Spotlight, Dr. Rakesh Patel shares authentic case examples of charting, and suggests ways in which educators can use interventions for improving documentation and better communicate their diagnostic reasoning.

Innovations in Education Conference

December 8 & 9, 2022

(In person and virtual)

 

This year, the Innovations in Education Conference will explore these conversations and ideas while marking the 50th anniversary of teaching and learning at McMaster.  

  

The conference theme will explore the Past, Present and Future of Teaching and Learning. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the fundamentals and principles of teaching and learning from the past, present and future. Presentations, workshops and panel discussions will explore the practices that have been sustained over time through innovations and technology, the practices that have been developed or adapted through times of individual and/or global crisis, how research on teaching and learning has evolved and supported new approaches, and much more.
